Judge: Dave Hipperson | 20/20
The judge loved this. The light sprinkling of snow, the quality of the winter trees, and the highlight on the building from what could only be moonlight and a long cold exposure. In fact it was a 1/12 second infra-red exposure on a spring lunchtime, but everything he said was the look I was going for so I’ll take it as a victory.
For a competition themed “Stripes”. We’ll see…
Lens experiments. Quite nice.
I have obsessed too long about this. So this is the ARPS panel I plan to submit. My confidence in the whole thing was getting lower and lower but it crept up slightly when I managed here to grade the colour correctly and find a pleasing arrangement. Next is to request a one-to-one and see how painful it is….
From yesterday’s Shaping Light workshop,
Another set of two kind volunteers in a lovely location.
Love this one.
Other contenders…
A couple of images taken while killing time between jobs.
Day trip to Hunstanton. Click them to view properly.
After many images taken of actual scythe work, it turns out that you can never see the blade of the scythe. Obviously! This one has a lot more humanity though and is easily my favourite.
A few others:
After a lot of photos taken in artfully contrived situations, one of which involved an angle grinder and a length of scaffold, inevitably the image I like best is this very natural one taken on the way to another location.
A few more….
A summer break activity created by member Mark Farringdon, to find 16 specific locations in the Shelfords and submit images either of or taken from the target location.
I submitted the above images, but also made these below…
Architecture in Vera Playa. Not unlike Monument Valley.
I like this one too though. More quotidian…
I can’t use this for my ARPS submission as it won’t fit in the panel properly, but I love it!
